The ClearSupport project is closely associated with the European process on establishing a Clearinghouse for financing of small-medium scale energy projects, as stipulated in EU's Green Paper and the European Commission's Action Plan For Energy Efficiency.

The ClearSupport project is aiming at sustaining the EU process by delivering input to the design of the concrete fund programmes. Furthermore, ClearSupport could act as a ‘testing ground' for new financial arrangements and clearinghouse-type schemes in the varying regions of EU.

A core aim of the ClearSupport project is to support the development of Clearinghouse practice at local level ; e.g. undertaking a series of supporting activities aiming at accelerating qualified project activities with focus on RUE in building measures.
